Only three of these large-scale research treadmills exist in the world, making the LIVI lab one of the most unique biomechanics research environments available today. By combining MotionMetrix’ markerless 3D motion capture technology with the Big Belt system, researchers can analyze human movement with exceptional depth. The setup allows the scientific team to study running mechanics, joint loading and movement patterns while athletes run on a large, high-performance treadmill designed specifically for advanced biomechanical research.
The collaboration opens up exciting opportunities for future studies in running biomechanics, sports performance and injury prevention. We are very much looking forward to working together with the outstanding research team at LIVI and to many more test runs on the Big Belt.
