Force Treadmills

Force-instrumented treadmills, built in partnership with Lode.

Built to pair with MotionMetrix G2
Every MotionMetrix G2 system pairs with our own force-instrumented treadmill. We make them in partnership with Lode, a world leading manufacturer of medical-grade treadmills.

Choose from four configurations depending on the analysis depth, running speed, and size you need or integrate your own treadmill with our sensor kit.

The MotionMetrix Force treadmill integrates seamlessly with the G2 system but can also be used in sync with other motion capture systems.

Model overview
3D Force
Vertical + horizontal force measurement, for advanced propulsion and loading analysis.
1D Force
Vertical-only force measurement, for standard loading and gait analysis.
Two platform sizes
Both models come in Standard (150 × 50 cm) or XL (190 × 70 cm).

The MotionMetrix advantage

Runner's legs on a MotionMetrix force treadmill

Starting with the fundamentals, the treadmill is engineered for exceptional stiffness and stability, a characteristic of a Lode. Combined with a smooth, and consistent drive system, this ensures accurate and repeatable conditions — critical for reliable gait analysis and running performance testing.

Operation is flexible and user-friendly: the treadmill can be controlled via the integrated front touch display, an optional remote control, or through USB/RS-232 serial communication. It also integrates seamlessly with CPET equipment, making it a versatile solution for both research and clinical environments.

Building on this platform, we offer both 1D (vertical) and 3D (vertical + horizontal) force instrumentation options. The true advantage with the MotionMetrix force treadmill lies in our proprietary vertical force sensor design. It enables a significantly simpler and more cost-efficient system architecture compared to conventional solutions, in both the 1D and 3D case, without compromising performance.

Choose your force treadmill
Every MotionMetrix treadmill unlocks Center of Pressure. 3D Force unlocks everything.

Choose between the 1D (vertical) or 3D (vertical, fore-aft and medio-lateral) force sensing versions. Both integrate seamlessly with the MotionMetrix G2 system but can also be used as standalone for data acquisition synchronized with your existing motion capture system. If you, however, prefer to retain your existing treadmill, it can be fitted with our vertical force sensor and used together with the G2 system.

Software integration

Runs standalone, or fully synced with G2

Default
Data acquisition only

The minimum software needed for force data acquisition: a Windows-based PC application with real-time visualization of center-of-pressure and force data. Start acquisition manually or via external trigger from a third-party motion capture system.

Optional
Markerless motion capture & 3D gait analysis

Our force treadmills integrate seamlessly and synchronously with the MotionMetrix G2 markerless motion capture system, featuring real-time gait feedback and complete 3D gait analysis for walking and running.
